1. Development of novel small ring building blocks and their utilization in the syntheses of natural and unnatural compounds.
   
2. New highly strained polycyclic compounds with interesting properties.
3. Utilization of metallorganic compounds in organic synthesis, specifically, palladium catalyzed sequential reactions and titanium mediated cyclopropanation.
   
4. Carbon and metallorganic compounds with unusual chemical and physical properties.
